MBA Eligibility Criteria

  • A bachelor’s degree or its equivalent in any discipline from a recognized university.
  • A minimum average score of 50 percent or equivalent in the bachelor’s degree. For reserved category students, the minimum average score is 45 percent.
  • Final-year graduation candidates can also apply for the MBA program, provided they can present proof of completing their graduation degree within the time frame specified by the institute.
  • Professionals with CA/CS/ICWAI and other degrees are also eligible to pursue an MBA.

These eligibility criteria are commonly followed by most institutes offering full-time MBA programs. It is important to note that some institutes may have additional criteria or requirements, so candidates should check with the individual institute for specific information.

The full form of MBA is Master of Business Administration. The course originated in the US about 100 years ago and arrived in India in the 1950s.

The main subjects in MBA and PGDM are almost the same and includes topics like Human Resource Management, Financial Management, Business Economics and Communication skills. The main difference between both the courses is that MBA is a degree, while PGDM refers to a diploma. MBA programmes primarily focus on managerial and business knowledge, whereas PGDM programmes focus on obtaining critical business-related skills. The skills and training offered in degree and diploma are, however, the same.

The MBA admission process includes entrance exam, group discussion and personal interview. Many colleges offer admission on the basis of graduation score only. To get admission in MBA course, the candidate will have to fill an application form and follow the admission process.
